2 on Tuesday

How is it already May 3rd? Where has this year gone? I am glad we are finally in the "warmer" months, but it is still chilly here in NYC. Seriously, were is spring? Anyway, it's been a while, but let's get to this weeks 2 on Tuesday.

I have recently gotten into podcasts (I know - I'm really behind in the times!). They are perfect to listen to on the train/walking to-from work. I am totally loving Anna Faris' podcast. She is hilarious and she has great guests on. She does 1 episode a week (very occasionally 2 a week) and it's definitely a podcast I look forward to each week.

This came out a while ago, but since it was during my "break" from blogging, I am covering it now. I was so excited when they announced this series. I grew up watching Full House every Friday night - it was appointment TV (in the time before DVR's). I always identified with Stephanie - I'm not sure why as I was not the middle child, but she was my favorite. I know there were mixed reviews about the show, but I loved it! It was cheesy and slightly campy, but it was everything I wanted it to be. I can also see myself re-watching the entire season over the summer. They've already announced a Season 2, which makes me excited.

Any podcasts you recommend?

2 on Tuesday

I finally saw Jurassic World this weekend.  I loved the first one (from way back when) and would (basically) watch anything with Chris Pratt in it.  Seriously, anything.  Love him.  Anna Faris is a lucky lady.  Anyway... I really enjoyed the movie!  It was definitely slightly campy - which made me happy because it's a movie about a dinosaur theme park; serious is not an option.   And yes, there were some plot holes (like  Claire's shoes; if you've seen the movie you know what I mean).  But, I enjoyed the overall plot, the casting was great, it made me laugh and had some great throwbacks to the original movie.  Anyone else see it?  Thoughts?

I've been using the summer to catch up on some TV and I just watched Empire.  It's been on my list for a while and everyone has been talking about it, so I spent the last weekend watching the entire first season.  It is SO good!  It's well written, acted and directed.  However, whenever I watch it and they say 'Empire', all I can think of is Empire Records - 'Damn the man, save the Empire'.  I love that movie (and now, need to watch it again).  I just kept saying it in my head everytime.  I am excited for season 2 to come back!

2 on Tuesday

Just a quick update on my 50 States Challenge - I signed up for state #23 (and 5th for the year) this past week.  I'm doing the Shipyard Old Port Half Marathon in Portland, Maine in July.  I'm really excited to check Maine off the list and it's sponsored by a brewery - you know I'm a fan of that!  Anyone ever done it before?  If so, I want the details!

Is anyone watching the new show 'Secrets and Lies'?  I watched the first two episodes, but I am unsure how I feel about it.  Episode 3 is DVR'd, but I'm not 100% sold on it.  And, what is up with Juliette Lewis' expression?  She just stares the whole time.  Is it me or is that odd?  Anyone watching it?  Thoughts?

Thursday night ramblings...

So much swimming in my mind, so I thought it would be a good time for a Thursday night rambling...

1.  Registration for the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend opened this past Tuesday and as expected, it sold out quickly-ish.  Dumbo sold out the quickest in like 30 minutes - completely unsurprising.  The 10K and 5K followed next.  But the Half took almost a day to sell out.  Much slower then in past years.  I'm guessing now that they've added the Avengers and Star Wars half there is less of a demand for the DL Half?  Kinda wish it would go back to the old days when you didn't have to register in the first 30 minutes of it opening.  I wish I could go again (I love this race!), but since I'm already going out for Tinker Bell, it's not really feasible this year.

2. Disney Parks blog shared some of the merch for the Princess Weekend (1 week away!) and I have to say, I'm not a huge fan.  I like the front of both of the jackets - but that back design?  Not a fan.  Sorry, there is just no way I am going to wear that outside of Disney and those jackets cost too much to only wear it in Disney.  I do like the teal Princess tank and the Princess tumbler.  I am hoping they have a tumbler like that for Glass Slipper.  No Sweaty Bands designs released yet, but hoping they have some cute ones!

3. I don't understand why shoe companies feel a need to constantly change shoe designs.  From the time I found my current shoe (the Asics Nimbus 15) to now, they have come out with 2 designs.  They are now on the Nimbus 17.  Since I am a creature of habit and dislike change in my sneakers, I bought 2 pairs when they came out with the 16's.  Now those pairs are done and I am in need of some new sneakers.  So of course, I went online and found some 15s to order.  I am going to have to stock up before they are gone completely!

4. Is anyone out there watching Jane the Virgin?  I just started watching it over the holiday and I have to say I'm a fan.  It's really cute (definitely a little cheesy) and funny.  I am trying not to start watching too many new shows as I can barely get through the ones I do run - but this one is worth.  Do you know which show I won't be watching?  The Slap.  Seriously, it just does not interest me at all.

What's going on in your head?  Share some of your ramblings with me!

2 on Tuesday

First 2 on Tuesday of 2015!

I am lucky enough for my office to be closed the week between Christmas and New Years (I'm still checking email and doing work from home if needed, but doing it in your PJs is so much better!), so over the holiday I did some serious TV catching up.  My DVR is completely empty (miracle!) and I binged watched 'Call the Midwife'.  It's been on my Netflix list for a while and I am so glad I finally watched.  It's by the team who does Downton Abbey and is so well done.  I really enjoyed it and can't wait for it to come back in March.  If you like London-set or period pieces, I highly recommend it.  It's streaming on Netflix now and you have time to catch up before the next season starts on March 29.

Speaking of TV, is anyone else really excited that Downton Abbey is back?  It was like the highlight of my weekend watching the premiere.  Not to give anything way to those who haven't watched yet, but they packed a lot into the episode.  I feel like it was solid first episode to kick off the season and I am really interested in where it goes.  Thoughts?

Fall TV

I think my DVR might explode.  Literally.  There is much new TV on right now with all the fall premiere's that I can't keep up!  Trying to be good this year and not add in too many new shows since I could barely watch all my shows last year.

Here are the shows (new or old) that I am looking forward to:

Revenge
Once Upon a Time
How I Met Your Mother
2 Broke Girls
Hawaii Five-O
Bones
Revolution
Dancing with the Stars
Elementary
Scandal
Fringe (the final season! sadness)
Go On
The New Normal
New Girl
Mindy Project
Happy Endings
Criminal Minds
Modern Family
Nashville
Big Bang Theory
Up All Night
Glee
Last Resort
Nikita

Yep - lots of TV going on!

What TV shows are you looking forward too?
