2 on Tuesday

Where is Spring? It's slightly warmer here, but still not the correct temp (at least in my opinion). This past Saturday it was so cold! We had a Oiselle Volee group run and it was only 42 degrees when I left my apartment. Although, my allergies are going crazy, so I guess it is spring after all.

I am very excited for tonight - we are going to see Aladdin on Broadway! We all know I love Disney and I have been wanting to see this one for a while. One of the perks of my job is we occasionally get tickets to Broadway shows (very occasionally) and this is one of those perks. I am going with some girlfriends and am so excited. Not just for the show, but also for a girls night out.

I don't know if you know this, but I have a serious love of donuts (or is it doughnuts? I like donut). Fortunately, so does my friend Michelle. Whenever we travel for races, we always seek out a local donut place. I found this list of the 22 Most Amazing Doughnuts in NYC a while ago and Michelle and I have decided to do an "unofficial" donut crawl to try them all. It's going to take a bit (I mean how many donuts can one eat in an afternoon?), but we checked two places off the list this weekend. Look for full posts to come on all the yummy donut-y goodness!

What's your favorite donut shop in your town?

How is it already May 3rd? Where has this year gone? I am glad we are finally in the "warmer" months, but it is still chilly here in NYC. Seriously, were is spring? Anyway, it's been a while, but let's get to this weeks 2 on Tuesday.

I have recently gotten into podcasts (I know - I'm really behind in the times!). They are perfect to listen to on the train/walking to-from work. I am totally loving Anna Faris' podcast. She is hilarious and she has great guests on. She does 1 episode a week (very occasionally 2 a week) and it's definitely a podcast I look forward to each week.

This came out a while ago, but since it was during my "break" from blogging, I am covering it now. I was so excited when they announced this series. I grew up watching Full House every Friday night - it was appointment TV (in the time before DVR's). I always identified with Stephanie - I'm not sure why as I was not the middle child, but she was my favorite. I know there were mixed reviews about the show, but I loved it! It was cheesy and slightly campy, but it was everything I wanted it to be. I can also see myself re-watching the entire season over the summer. They've already announced a Season 2, which makes me excited.

Any podcasts you recommend?

Work has been going well.  I am about 2.5 months in and its everything I've hoped it would be.  I haven't been working crazy hours, but the hours I am at work are packed.  Last week, I took a trip to San Diego for a meeting.  This would not normally stress me out, but I found out on Friday after I already arrived at work with my stuff for Wine & Dine.  In short, I ended up running home for appropriate clothing and flew directly to San Diego from Orlando.  And back to New York the next day.  Needless to say, it was a crazy week last week!  I had never been to San Diego before, so after my meeting and before my flight, I walked around the downtown and waterfront.  It really was beautiful.  Hopefully, next time I am in San Diego it will be for longer.

I woke up over the weekend with the feeling a cold was coming on.  And of course, it is marathon week.  I usually get a little taper cold, but this feels worse then normal.  Two people on my team have had a cold over the last month, so something is going around.  I stocked up on Theraflu (my favorite) and Emergen-C.  I plan on getting lots of fluids and sleep.  Fingers crossed it's a short cold and goes away soon!

2 on Tuesday

My desk looked sad and lonely on Friday after cleaning it out.  It was definitely bittersweet to go through all my paperwork and pack up / throw things out.  But like I said on Friday, change is good.  It's only been 1 day, but so far it's been good!

Time hop so nicely reminded me recently that 1 year ago around this time I was in Disneyland for the Disneyland Half Weekend.  I won't lie - I am having some serious sadness and FOMO around missing it this year.  I did it the past 2 years and I loved it both years.  With doing Tink this year, it just wasn't in the cards (and I loved our Tink trip, I wouldn't have not gone for anything!), plus with the new job... it's probably best I am not there.  This doesn't mean I'm still not sad!  I'll be stalking everything on Instagram and being jealous all weekend.

Late last week, runDisney released the medals for Wine & Dine.  As you know, Wine & Dine is one of my FAVORITE runDisney races.  I have always loved this medal - the iconic Spaceship Earth and running waiter Mickey on it.  The new design this year keeps the waiter Mickey, but loses Spaceship Earth.  I am not sure I like this medal as much as I have in years past.  But in my experience, the runDisney medals are never photographed well.  So, I am keeping my hopes up that it is better in person!

And in some awesome news from runDisney that came today - it is official, there will be a Star Wars race weekend in Disney World!  I mentioned after the Star Wars half in Disneyland, that I had some serious FOMO from this race {and side note from that post, I re-watched all the original Star Wars and now love them (I hadn't seen them since elementary school).  How I went so long without re-watching them is beyond comprehension!  My movie tastes have definitely changed since I was 14.}   Unfortunately, a trip this January to Disneyland was not in the cards, so I was sad I wouldn't be able to do it again.  But a Star Wars race in World?  That I can do!

So, what do you think about the Wine & Dine medals as well as the WDW Star Wars half?

Two for Tuesday

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Hope your week is going well.  Here are a couple of things for your Tuesday

I recently bought my first SPIBELT.  They are small belts that are not supposed to bounce so you can put keys, money, phone, etc while you run.  I had been thinking about getting one for a while, but am just too lazy to make a special trip to the running store to buy one and I always forget when I am there.  I usually place my keys in those tiny pockets inside running shorts, but I have developed a constant wound from my keys rubbing.  I got the black with turquoise zipper (above) with water resistant lining and gu holders on the band.  Already wore it during the Providence half and didn't bother me at all!

I know these have been big all summer, but I am still totally loving statement necklaces.  I just think they are an easy way to dress up a basic outfit and am looking forward to the new fall colors of plum and orange.  The above necklace is from The Limited, but they are basically everywhere any more!
