Has anyone used Instacart yet? I've seen some ads for it, but hadn't really heard much about it until last week when I friend told me she was obsessed with it and I had to try it. It didn't take much to convince me, especially when I found out you can shop from Costco on it! I am assuming the stores vary market to market, but for me in New York, I could order from Costco, Fairway and Whole Foods. Basically, you can order from all 3 stores in 1 order and then they get delivered. It was awesome because there are items I love at each store (okay, mainly Fairway and Whole Foods) but there is no way I am going to make trips to both stores to do my grocery shopping. And since I had access to Costco, I stocked up on some items that won't go bad before I use it or I can freeze. I now have about 15 pounds of chicken breast in my freezer and 30 rolls of TP stashed all around my apartment (basically where ever I could hid them). I think it was a success and I'll definitely use it again - although probably not for Costco for a while (I only have so much storage space!). If you are interested, you can use my referral code and get $10 off your first purchase + free shipping (full disclosure, I also get $5 for referring you). Click here to check it out!
I have been in my apartment for almost 5 years, which is awesome because moving in NYC sucks. But it's not good, because moving forces me to clean out my closet's. And since I haven't moved in almost 5 years... my closet's are starting to overflow. So, since it's Spring and all (even though it doesn't feel like it outside), I am trying to go through my stuff and get rid of it. It's not like I'm a hoarder, more that I am just lazy. So on Sunday, I took 2 full bags of stuff to donate to Goodwill and I still have another full one to bring (and I am guessing at least 2 more since I am only just starting to go through my stuff). The closest Goodwill is a solid 30 blocks away so I have to take the subway which limits how much stuff I can bring in at once. Here's to paring down and getting rid of some of the excess stuff in my apartment!
Anyone else doing some spring cleaning?
I loathe grocery shopping. I need to look into this!
ReplyDeleteI actually don't mind grocery shopping when I am in the suburbs and have a car. Carrying everything home from the store in the city is the worst!
