I have made no secret of my love for Oiselle. So imagine my sadness when I saw on Friday they would be having a sample sale at their HQ in Seattle. Everything would be $10 except for jackets which would be $20. Why is Seattle so far from NYC? I (obviously) wasn't able to get out there for it, but I am very lucky to have a friend who lives in Seattle and was able to pick me up some goodies. I could 2 tank tops, 1 hoodie, 1 pair of pants and 1 vest. I can't wait for them to arrive! Thanks Megan, you are the best!
If you live anywhere in the Northeast, you know that we were supposed to be getting it with a "historic" snow storm. Our mayor told New Yorker's to prepare for something we had never seen before. 20+ inches. And we got 7-8". This was the sidewalk in front of my building this AM. I understand it's better safe then sorry, but I'm pretty sure this storm got blown a little bit out of proportion (before it hit us). Oh well, maybe another time. Is it sad that I'm just hoping the park is clear for my run tonight?

It's snowing. Again. If you are counting this makes for 3 snowfalls in a 1 week period. This does not bode well for this winter. I feel like I am in Syracuse again. Except I can't wear sweatpants to work everyday like I could with classes. I'm going to have to do tonights workout on the treadmill because it is really gross out and the temp is dropping. I'm afraid it is going to be super icy in the park and it's not worth the risk so close to Dopey. Anyway...
These are my absolute favorite item from Trader Joe's. Oreo's with crushed peppermint in the filling? How could they be bad? I seriously wish they sold them all year long. I may or may start hoarding them once they appear in store. They are best cold, so put them in the fridge! They also make for a delicious milkshake with some almond milk and vanilla ice cream. Hmmm, now I want a milkshake.
I have a seriously love of brussel sprouts and butternut squash so this recipe was right up my alley. Quinoa, roasted brussel sprouts and caramelized butternut squash. So simple, yet so delicious! I left out the pepitas and it was still excellent (only because my grocery store didn't have them). I even made it for my works Thanksgiving potluck and it was a big hit. I also discovered while making this recipe how to make my own brown sugar (I was out and too lazy to go to the store). Just mix regular sugar and molasses (yes, I had molasses on hand). I think I will be making this a lot!

We got our first snow fall today. Not sure how much we got - I'm going to estimate 2-3 inches? No idea. It was pretty bad on my commute. Normally on snow days, I like to take advantage of my office's casual dress policy, but today I had to go to a work conference in the morning and be dressy. Love wearing a skirt and heels in snow (well, I wore snow boots and changed into heels before the event). I am so classy, huh?
I love Christmas and all the decorations that go with it. NYC decorated for Christmas is definitely one of my favorite times of the year. But as much as I like it, it's hard in NYC to keep a lot of decorations, especially when you live in a "charming" (NYC speak for small) apartment. But, that doesn't stop me from keeping a small tree under my bed (yes, I am an artificial tree kinda gal). This past weekend, I put on Elf and got decorating. I keep it pretty simple, all gold and dark red ornaments with a bow for my tree topper, but I do have two Disney ornaments on it. My favorite all time character - Tinkerbell sitting on a red bell and a simple Port Orleans Resort ornament (my favorite place to stay at Disney World).
Speaking of snow boots, I finally got to use my new ones! Last summer when we were on our way home from VT (for the Crawley Half Marathon), we made a pit stop at the outlets. The Orvis outlet was having a great sale and I scored a pair of awesome Sorel boots for only $32. They are the Tivoli Nylon boot and are an awesome light purple/gray combo. I had been wanting a pair of Sorel's for a while, but had been holding off. I don't know what I was waiting for. They are so warm and comfortable. At least I know my feet will be warm this winter!
I seemed to ramble a little bit on this 2 on Tuesday, thanks for sticking with me!
