So I was planning on doing my race recap of the Crowley Half Marathon, but it's been a hectic week and I want to get to bed early for my run tomorrow.
Instead, I am going to do a some race updates and other midweek randoms.
So, I have decided not to do the Madison Mini Marathon. It's been a crazy couple of weeks and I have some more travel upcoming (SF, Chicago, Columbus) so I am looking forward to being home for a while. This also means that this upcoming weekend will be my last half before Dumbo Double Dare. I may do a couple of back to back 10Ks in July, but otherwise, nothing.
Does anyone watch the show Castle? I recently started watching it from Season 1. I am only on Season 2, but I am really liking it so far. It's funny and pretty entertaining. How have I not been watching it until now?
How long does one have to live in a city before it becomes "home"? I was talking with a friend about something and I mentioned I had "left something at home" and she asked me "PA?". I know everyone is different and my childhood home will always be my childhood home, but I've been in NYC for almost 8 years, is it weird that I call it home?
I'm off to SF this weekend to spend some quality time with some girlfriends and run the SF First Half. I am really excited for this race as it runs over the Golden Gate Bridge - how cool is that? Should be a good time.
Now I'm off to bed...can barely keep my eyes open!

Race update
Today was the first day it was warm enough to wear shorts on my run. Outside of the fact that my legs are shockingly white, it felt great. I am so happy it is finally getting warm.
I am off to Cincinnati this weekend for the Flying Pig Half, Ohio on my 50 State goal. The weather this weekend has a wide swing of temps with a chance of rain. So basically I am over packing for a weekend trip. My suitcase is packed. I am the world's worst packer. Ugh.
Anyway, I have a couple of more races that are looking likely for the rest of the year. They are not 100% (still trying to work out travel plans) but here's what's next:
6/23 - Governors Island 10K, New York, NY
8/17 - Madison Mini-Marathon (aka Half Marathon), Madison, WI
10/12 - Hartford Half Marathon, Hartford, CT
Hopefully these ones will all work out and I'll be able to get 2 more states off my list.
Anyone else running Flying Pigs this weekend?

My insanity continues
Less then 40 days until Reach the Beach (RTB). For those of you who don't know, RTB is a 200 mile relay race through New Hampshire. I am really excited to do it! I don't know yet which leg I will be running, but it will most likely be between 16 - 19 total miles. We'll be heading up on Thursday and coming home on Sunday. So excited! Should be an excellent time.

Back into the swing of things...back from Florida and ready to get back into training. Feeling a little behind, but nothing I can't catch up on. Hoping to get in some cross-training tonight.
This weekend we will be running the Naples - NYC Park to Park 10k. Should be a good run. Let's hope its not to hot!

Upcoming Races
So this Sunday we will be participating as a team in the NYRR Hope and Possibility 5M. No training on Saturday because of the race. Although, I may try and get a long run in on Sunday anyways. Haven't really gotten a good one in in a while and with vacation coming up.... We'll see.

More proof that I have lost my mind. I am officially registered to do Reach the Beach - a 200 mile relay race in New Hampshire (www.rtbrelay.com). Yep. I'm crazy. Check out this video from a previous years race:

Disney World!
So Jenny and I decided that we are going to run the Disney World Half Marathon in January. We already registered for it! YAY! I am actually really excited - I hear great things about the race. Plus, you know I love a good half marathon. We are going to take a couple of days off of work and go down and spend some days in the park. Very excited! Make your calendar's January 12th at 6am (Yes, the race starts at 6am, meaning I'll be done and ready to ride some rollar coasters at 8am). Plus, it's 2 weeks before my b-day!

Long Run
Ended up doing a 12 mile long run instead of 14. My left calf was starting to bother me at Mile 11, so I decided to cut it short rather then risk injuring myself. Definitely a good idea. Even Coach Ramon agreed. Now only 1 long run left before the marathon - the Brooklyn 1/2 Marathon this weekend.
